Unlike traditional quartz, Dekton contains no resin binders. This means you can confidently take boiling pans, hot roasting tins or slow cookers straight from the oven and place them directly onto the worktop without any fear of scorch marks or thermal shock.
Because the surface is entirely mineral-based, Dekton is highly resistant to ultraviolet light. It will never fade, yellow or degrade in direct sunlight, making it the undisputed leading material for outdoor kitchens and barbecue surrounds.
Dekton is widely considered one of the most scratch-resistant surfaces available on the global market today. While we always advise using a chopping board to protect your kitchen knives from blunting, the stone itself is incredibly difficult to mark.
Dekton excels in producing highly industrial, architectural finishes. From rusted corten steel effects to deep, textured concretes, their aesthetic range is truly unique.
The sintering process subjects the raw minerals to such immense pressure that the final slab has absolutely zero porosity. Liquid simply cannot penetrate a Dekton surface. This means it naturally repels the most stubborn household stains, including harsh chemicals, bleach, marker pen, red wine and concentrated citrus juices. It requires zero chemical sealing and can be effortlessly maintained with standard household surface cleaners.

Yes. Because Dekton is forged in extreme kilns and contains no plastic polymers, it is entirely fireproof and heatproof. You can safely place hot cookware directly onto the surface without causing any structural damage or discoloration.
Generally, yes. Dekton sits at the premium luxury end of the market. The manufacturing process is incredibly energy-intensive, and the material is so dense that it requires our Stevenage stonemasons to use highly specialised, slower-running diamond tooling to cut and fabricate your bespoke worktops.
While the surface itself is exceptionally hard and virtually scratch-proof, the extreme density of sintered stone means the exposed edges can be susceptible to chipping if struck forcefully by heavy cast-iron pots. To mitigate this risk, our fabrication team highly recommends choosing a slightly rounded or bevelled edge profile for your kitchen.
